Shapur is a small, strategically important area with pockets of densely developed settlements and industrial complexes within its regional boundaries.

Located just on the Karzeghi side of Takistan’s disputed border with Karzeghistan, Shapur’s northern urban area spills out into three main industrial complexes. To the south, an airstrip keeps the remote area connected, with a military supply depot and base securing the region’s sovereignty.

The region recently took on increased significance with the discovery of potentially large oil deposits in exploration wells from multinational corporations supported by the Karzeghistan Natural Resources Exploration & Exploitation Commission (KNREEC).
